How the VoteHer Top works
TL;DR
- One a day: Each person can vote once a day for each creator, and for up to 25 creators a day.
- Super votes: A super vote costs 100 coins and counts as 5 votes, in the same total as the free ones.
- Nothing added: The Top is a count of votes. Nothing is seeded, weighted or bought by VoteHer.
- Published after: Weekly and monthly tables appear on this blog once the period has ended, so their numbers never move.
What a vote is
VoteHer runs inside Telegram. When you open it, Telegram tells the app who you are, and the server checks that message before it accepts a vote. A vote is therefore one Telegram account, not a click from anywhere.
You can vote for each creator once per day, counted in UTC. Across all creators you have 25 votes a day. The app shows when you have used today's vote for someone, and the button comes back the next day.
Super votes
A super vote is a vote bought with coins. One costs 100 coins and adds 5 votes to her total. Bundles are cheaper per vote: 5 super votes cost 450 coins and 20 cost 1,600.
Super votes go into the same count as the free daily votes. Every weekly and monthly post on this blog says how many of the votes that period came from super votes, so you can see how much of a result was bought.
What coins cost in Stars is in Telegram Stars, coins and super votes.
Today, this week, all time
The Top tab in the app has three tables. Today counts votes since midnight UTC. This week counts the last seven days, so it moves every day. All time counts every vote since the app opened.
The posts on this blog are different from the app's rolling week. A weekly post covers one calendar week, Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59 UTC, and is written after that week ends.
Ties, and creators who leave
When two creators have the same number of votes, the one who got her first vote of the period earlier is placed higher. That is the only tie rule.
A creator who asks to be removed, or whose profile is reported and taken down, disappears from the app at once. She also disappears from every table on this blog, including old ones. The totals in an old post stay as they were counted.
When there is no post
A weekly or monthly Top is published only when at least 100 votes were cast, by at least 20 different people, for at least 10 creators. Below that, one keen fan could decide the result, so the post is not published.
Every published Top is in the Weekly Top and Monthly Top sections of this blog.
Questions
Can I vote for the same creator twice in a day?
No. One vote per creator per day. Super votes are the only way to add more on the same day.
Do I need an account?
No. VoteHer uses your Telegram account. There is no sign-up and no password.
Can creators pay to rank higher?
VoteHer does not sell places in the Top. Anyone can buy super votes, and every post says how many votes came from them.
